Quick Order in B2B Ecommerce Explained

Quick order is a B2B ecommerce feature that lets buyers add many known products to a cart quickly using SKUs, quantities, CSV upload, saved lists, or rapid-entry forms. It reduces the need to browse product pages for repeat or high-volume purchases.

The feature is designed for buyers who already know what they need and do not want to browse category pages. A purchaser can enter SKU and quantity pairs, paste a list, upload a CSV, or choose items from saved lists. The system validates each line and adds eligible products to the cart in bulk.

A strong quick-order experience should support:

• Fast SKU lookup with clear handling of variants, discontinued items, and replacements.

• Account-specific price and catalog eligibility before the item is added.

• Inventory, minimum quantity, pack-size, and order-quantity validation.

• Large orders without forcing the buyer to add products one page at a time.

Quick order is especially valuable for distributors, manufacturers, and repeat buyers with large catalogs. Its usefulness depends on product identifiers and account rules being reliable. If the buyer enters a valid SKU but the storefront cannot resolve contract price or availability quickly, the speed advantage disappears and the customer returns to spreadsheet or email ordering.

Example: A maintenance buyer can paste 40 SKU-and-quantity lines from a spreadsheet, validate them against the current catalog, and add all eligible items to the cart in one step.
