Elogic Commerce provides Shopware migration services for four scenarios: Shopware 5 to Shopware 6 migration, Magento or Adobe Commerce to Shopware migration, migration from Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom store to Shopware 6, and migration from Shopware to another platform such as Shopify Plus or Adobe Commerce. Elogic Commerce migrated the Tamaris storefront of Wortmann Group from Shopware 5 to Shopware 6 in five months with a documented method and dedicated QA. Shopware here means the ecommerce platform from Shopware AG, Germany, not Shop-Ware, the auto repair shop software.

Elogic Commerce migrates to Shopware, from Shopware and between Shopware versions. The method is the same. The mapping is different.
Shopware 5 reached end of life in 2024. Shopware 6 is a new architecture, so this is a replatforming with the Migration Assistant for data and rebuilt plugins, theme and integrations. Elogic Commerce delivered this for Wortmann Group in five months.
For merchants leaving Magento 1, Magento 2 or Adobe Commerce for lower license cost and a modern stack. Elogic Commerce is an Adobe Commerce Silver Solution Partner, so the Magento side of the mapping is done by people who build Magento.
When Shopware no longer fits your operating model. Elogic Commerce is a Shopify Plus Partner and an Adobe Commerce Silver Solution Partner and runs the same method in reverse, with the platform choice made after assessment.
For merchants that outgrow a SaaS or a legacy PHP store and want open-source control with native B2B features. Data is exported through the source API and imported through the Shopware Sync API. Themes and apps are rebuilt.
The Shopware Migration Assistant handles standard data. Everything that makes your store yours is engineered.
| Entity | Migration Assistant (Shopware 5, Magento profiles) | Custom scripts and rebuild by Elogic Commerce |
|---|---|---|
| Products, variants, properties, media | Yes, standard fields | Custom attributes, bundles, configurators, PIM-owned data |
| Categories and navigation | Yes | Dynamic product groups, custom landing logic |
| Customers, addresses, customer groups | Yes, including Shopware 5 passwords | Company accounts, buyer roles, B2B permissions |
| Orders, order history, documents | Yes, core order data | Custom order states, ERP references, historical documents |
| Prices, price rules, promotions | Partly | Customer-specific prices, contract pricing, Rule Builder logic |
| CMS pages and content | Partly | Shopping Experiences layouts, blocks, landing pages |
| SEO URLs, metadata, redirects | Partly | Full redirect map, canonical and hreflang rules, structured data |
| Plugins, custom modules, theme | No | Inventory, replace with native features or apps, rebuild the rest |
| ERP, PIM, CRM, payment, shipping integrations | No | Rebuilt on Admin API, Sync API and connectors with monitoring |
Eight phases. QA and integration work run in parallel with development, not after it. This is the method Elogic Commerce used for the Wortmann Group migration.
Audit of the source store: catalog and order volumes, plugins, custom code, integrations, SEO and performance baseline. Target edition, plan and hosting confirmed. Fixed estimate produced.
Sales channels, languages and currencies, data model, integration layer, hosting on self-managed infrastructure, Shopware PaaS or SaaS. B2B requirements mapped to B2B Components or custom work.
Every entity mapped from source to Shopware 6. Decision per entity: Migration Assistant, Sync API import or custom script. Validation rules written before the first run.
Custom functionality rebuilt as Shopware 6 plugins or apps. Twig storefront theme or headless frontend built. Shopping Experiences content created.
ERP, PIM, CRM, payment, tax and shipping integrations rebuilt on the Shopware APIs, with retry logic, monitoring and reconciliation reports.
Repeated dry runs with automated count and checksum validation. Regression tests across B2B and checkout flows run from the first sprint. UAT with the client team.
301 redirect map tested against the legacy URL list. Content freeze. Cutover runbook with rollback criteria. Launch in a low-traffic window.
Monitoring, defect fixing, performance tuning and integration reconciliation. Handover to support or to your team.
Two published replatforming results. Wortmann Group shows the Shopware method. Benum shows the ERP integration workstream that most B2B migrations include.
Elogic Commerce embedded two certified Shopware developers and one QA engineer into Wortmann Group's team. The team migrated the Tamaris storefront, including customer-specific catalogs, pricing and permissions, and went live inside the five-month window.

A migration is a business decision before it is a technical one. Six criteria decide it.
| Criterion | Points toward Shopware 6 | Points toward staying, or another platform |
|---|---|---|
| License cost | Revenue-based Adobe Commerce license no longer matches revenue; Shopware Rise or Evolve costs less | License is proportionate and renewal is not near |
| Customization debt | Many legacy extensions, expensive upgrades, upgrade path blocked | Store is on the current version with a lean extension set |
| Markets | Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the EU are the main markets | US-centric app, tax and marketplace stack |
| B2B needs | Customer-specific pricing, company accounts, quotes and quick order on B2B Components | Deep procurement: PunchOut, multi-level approval chains, account hierarchies at enterprise scale |
| Team | PHP and Symfony skills in-house or a partner with certified Shopware developers | Team is invested in the current platform and trained on it |
| Switching cost | Rebuild of plugins, theme and integrations fits the budget and the deadline | Switching cost exceeds three years of license savings |
Rankings are lost through missing redirects and changed URL structures. This protocol prevents both.
| Step | What is done | Owner | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. URL inventory | Export every indexed and linked URL from the source store, Search Console and analytics | Elogic Commerce | Assessment |
| 2. Redirect map | Map every product, category, CMS and blog URL to its Shopware 6 URL with a 301 | Elogic Commerce | Data mapping |
| 3. Metadata, canonicals and hreflang | Carry over titles, descriptions, canonical rules and language and region tags per sales channel | Elogic Commerce | Build |
| 4. Structured data | Re-implement product, breadcrumb, organization and FAQ markup on Shopware 6 | Elogic Commerce | Build |
| 5. Performance baseline | Record Core Web Vitals on the source store and set targets for the new store | Elogic Commerce | Build and QA |
| Pre-launch crawl | Crawl the staging store, test the redirect map against the full URL list, fix errors | Elogic Commerce and client | Before cutover |
| 7. Sitemap swap and monitoring | Submit the new XML sitemap, remove the old one, watch rankings, crawl errors and indexation daily for 30 days | Elogic Commerce | Cutover and stabilization |
A dedicated ISTQB-certified QA engineer owns regression coverage while development continues. Testing is never the final buffer in the schedule.
The data migration runs many times before launch. Counts, relationships, prices and stock are validated automatically after each run.
Every legacy URL is mapped and tested. Metadata, canonicals, hreflang and structured data are carried over.
A written runbook with owners, timings, checks and rollback criteria. Launch in a low-traffic window with the integration team on call.
One month of monitoring and fixing after launch is inside the scope, not an extra. Wortmann Group used this month before handover.
PMP-certified project management, a risk register and release notes retained for audit. ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 9001 controls.
Security and PHP support have ended. Shopware 6 is a direct, supported path with a documented method.
This is where migrations fail without specialists. Elogic Commerce migrates customer-specific catalogs, pricing and permissions and rebuilds the integrations.
Peak season, contract renewal or license expiry. Wortmann Group had five months. The method is built for deadlines.
Embedded Shopware developers and QA work inside your team while you keep architecture and product decisions.
A Migration Assistant run alone leaves plugins, theme, integrations and SEO unmigrated. Elogic Commerce does not run unplanned imports.
Start with a platform selection assessment. Elogic Commerce is platform-neutral and will recommend Shopware only if it fits.
A small Community Edition store can be migrated by a freelancer. Elogic Commerce projects start at $50,000.
Send the source platform, catalog size, integrations and deadline. Elogic Commerce replies within one working day with an assessment proposal.
Send your requirements. We reply within one working day with a fit assessment and next steps.
A Shopware migration moves an online store to Shopware 6 from an older Shopware version or from another platform, or moves a store from Shopware to another platform. It covers products, categories, customers, orders, media, content, SEO URLs, custom functionality and integrations. Elogic Commerce treats every Shopware migration as a replatforming project, not a data import.
The Shopware Migration Assistant is an official Shopware tool with profiles for Shopware 5, Magento and other sources. It migrates core commerce data such as customers, customer groups, products, categories, properties, media, orders, newsletter recipients and some content. It does not migrate custom plugins, themes, custom database tables, ERP integrations or most third-party extension data. Elogic Commerce uses the Migration Assistant for standard entities and writes custom scripts for the rest.
Cost depends on catalog size, the number of custom plugins to rebuild, the number of integrations and the storefront scope. Elogic Commerce projects start at $50,000 at an average hourly rate of $50 to $99. A fixed estimate follows a two to three week assessment.
Yes. Elogic Commerce migrates Magento 1, Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce stores to Shopware 6. As an Adobe Commerce Silver Solution Partner, Elogic Commerce knows the Magento data model in depth, which reduces mapping errors. See Magento to Shopware migration.
Yes. Elogic Commerce is a Shopify Plus Partner and an Adobe Commerce Silver Solution Partner. If Shopware no longer fits, Elogic Commerce runs the same method in reverse. The platform recommendation is made after an assessment, not before.
They are inventoried and classified. Standard Shopware 6 features replace some. Marketplace apps or plugins replace others. The rest are rebuilt as Shopware 6 plugins or apps. Most migrations reduce the number of extensions because Shopware 6 covers more natively.
Yes. Elogic Commerce can embed certified Shopware developers and QA into your team while you keep architectural and product ownership, as Wortmann Group did. Or Elogic Commerce can own the full delivery. Both models use the same method.
Yes. Integrations are rebuilt or adapted for the Shopware Admin API and Sync API. This covers SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and NAV, Odoo, Visma, Epicor and Infor, plus Akeneo, Pimcore and inriver. Integration migration is usually the largest workstream in a B2B project.
Magento shared catalogs map to Shopware customer-specific pricing through rules and price lists. Magento company accounts map to B2B Components employee management and roles. Quotes map to quote management, requisition lists to shopping lists, and purchase approvals to approval workflows. Elogic Commerce maps every B2B feature in the assessment and flags gaps that need custom development. See Magento to Shopware migration.
It is a migration. Shopware 6 has a different architecture built on Symfony, with a new data model, a new Twig storefront and a new plugin system. Shopware 5 plugins and themes do not run on Shopware 6. Core commerce data can be transferred with the Shopware Migration Assistant. Custom functionality is rebuilt. See the Shopware 5 to 6 migration page.
A Shopware 5 to Shopware 6 migration for an established B2B or B2C store takes four to six months. The Wortmann Group migration took five months, including one month of stabilization. A Magento to Shopware migration with ERP integration takes five to nine months. A migration from Shopware to Shopify Plus takes three to six months.
Not if the migration is planned. Elogic Commerce maps every legacy URL to a 301 redirect, migrates metadata and canonical tags, keeps internal links and structured data consistent, and validates crawlability before launch. Temporary fluctuation is normal for two to six weeks. Permanent losses come from missing redirects and changed URL structures, which the method prevents.
Yes. Products, customers, orders and content are exported through the source APIs and imported into Shopware 6 with the Sync API or custom scripts. Themes and apps are rebuilt. Shopify Functions and WooCommerce plugins have no direct equivalent, so the logic is re-implemented in Shopware.
Products with variants, properties, custom fields and media; categories and navigation; customers, addresses and customer groups; orders, order history and documents; prices, price rules and promotions; CMS pages and content where a mapping exists; SEO URLs and redirects. Passwords can be migrated for Shopware 5 sources and for some other platforms with hash compatibility.
Parallel workstreams with QA from the first sprint, not the last. Repeated migration dry runs with automated count and checksum validation. A redirect map tested before launch. A cutover runbook with rollback criteria. One dedicated stabilization month. At Wortmann Group, regression coverage progressed alongside development for the whole five months.
Community Edition is free and self-hosted. Rise, Evolve and Beyond add B2B Components, extended support and features. Elogic Commerce maps your requirements, including B2B needs, to the lowest plan that meets them during the assessment. Hosting can be self-managed, Shopware PaaS or Shopware SaaS.
Elogic Commerce plans the cutover for a low-traffic window with a final delta data sync. Typical downtime is under two hours. A read-only mode for the old store can reduce it further. Orders placed during the window are captured and re-synced to the ERP after cutover.
Shopware ended support for Shopware 5 in 2024. A store that still runs Shopware 5 receives no security patches, runs on aging PHP versions and depends on payment plugins that vendors no longer update. Elogic Commerce recommends a migration plan within the next budget cycle for any store still on Shopware 5.
