What is multi-store ecommerce?
Elogic Commerce defines multi-store ecommerce as one commerce platform that runs many storefronts from one shared back end. Each storefront can have its own country, language, currency, brand, catalog, prices, payment methods and domain. All storefronts share the product data, customer data, order flow and integrations.
A multi-store setup lets you add a market without a new platform. Elogic Commerce designs the shared core so that a new storefront is mostly configuration, content and testing. The same core can serve a B2C store, a B2B portal for dealers and a store for a second brand.
Multi-store
Many storefronts on one back end. Elogic Commerce uses this term for the full architecture.
Multi-region
Storefronts per country or region, each with local currency, tax rules and language.
Multi-brand
Storefronts per brand on a shared catalog and a shared order flow.
Multi-instance
Separate platforms per market. This is the opposite model, with separate code and upgrades.
Elogic Commerce reference architecture: many market storefronts on one shared commerce core, with ERP and PIM connected once.
Two scenarios: launch new markets or consolidate regional stores
Elogic Commerce works on two kinds of multi-store programs. The first kind adds countries or brands to a working platform. The second kind merges several regional stores into one global platform. Both programs use the same target architecture, but the risks are different.
How Elogic Commerce approaches each multi-store scenario
| Global rollout | Regional consolidation | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | One working store. New countries or brands are planned. | Several regional stores on different platforms, versions or instances. |
| Main goal | Launch each new market faster than the last one. | Run all regions on one platform with one data model. |
| Main risk | Each country becomes a separate fork of the code. | Loss of revenue, rankings or data at cutover. |
| What Elogic Commerce builds | A shared core, a country storefront kit and a wave plan. | A target data model, a data migration per region, a redirect map per locale and a phased cutover. |
| Elogic Commerce proof | Zeus Group: 17 countries on Shopify Plus B2B. Armacell: regional waves on Adobe Commerce Enterprise. | Manutan: one Medusa.js engine replaced fragmented multi-country catalogs. |
Elogic Commerce recommends one instance for most B2B and B2B2C companies that share a catalog and an ERP. Elogic Commerce recommends separate instances, or one composable front end over shared services, when markets do not share products, systems or teams.
How each ecommerce platform runs multiple stores
Elogic Commerce is platform-neutral and builds multi-store setups on eight platforms. Each platform has a different multi-store model. The table shows the model, the strongest fit and the Elogic Commerce reference for each platform.
Multi-store models by platform, with Elogic Commerce references
| Platform | Multi-store model | Strongest fit | Elogic Commerce reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adobe Commerce | Global, website, store and store view scopes. Prices can be set per website. Store views carry languages. B2B shared catalogs apply per company. | Complex B2B with many legal entities, catalogs and price rules | Armacell: B2B portal on Adobe Commerce Enterprise with SAP S/4HANA, rolled out by region |
| Shopify Plus | Shopify Markets for countries, currencies, languages and domains in one store. Expansion stores for separate brands or business units. B2B companies, catalogs and price lists. | Fast SaaS rollouts with standard processes | Zeus Group: Shopify Plus B2B in 17 European countries with SAP Business One |
| Medusa.js | Regions for currency, tax and payment providers. Sales channels for storefronts. Custom modules for extra logic. | Composable B2B with custom orchestration | Manutan: multi-country Medusa.js platform with a Node.js orchestration layer and SAP S/4HANA |
| Salesforce Commerce Cloud | Sites in one realm, with a shared master catalog, site catalogs and price books assigned per site. | Global B2C brands with many country sites | Elogic Commerce Salesforce Commerce Cloud development |
| commercetools | Stores, channels and product selections scope products, prices, carts and orders per storefront. | API-first enterprise programs | Elogic Commerce commercetools development |
| SAP Commerce Cloud | Base sites, base stores and catalog versions per market. | SAP-centric enterprises | Elogic Commerce SAP Commerce Cloud services |
| Shopware 6 | Sales channels, each with its own domain, language, currency, theme, payment and shipping. | DACH-focused B2B and B2C | Elogic Commerce Shopware development |
| BigCommerce | Multi-Storefront: many storefronts on one store. BigCommerce states a limit of 5 native or 15 headless storefronts per store. | Mid-market multi-brand and multi-region | Elogic Commerce BigCommerce development |

What Elogic Commerce delivers in a multi-store program
Elogic Commerce delivers the full multi-store scope: architecture, localization, integrations, migration, SEO and governance. Each item below is part of a standard Elogic Commerce rollout plan.
Multi-store architecture and data model
Elogic Commerce maps your markets, brands and channels to platform scopes. Elogic Commerce decides which data is global, which data is per market and which data is per storefront.
Localization per market
Elogic Commerce sets up languages, currencies, tax rules, local payment methods and shipping rules per market. EU sales follow VAT rules such as the One-Stop Shop scheme.
ERP integration per legal entity
Elogic Commerce connects each storefront to the correct ERP company, sales organization or subsidiary in SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle NetSuite or Visma. Prices, stock, credit and orders stay correct per entity.
One source of product data
Elogic Commerce connects a PIM such as Akeneo, Pimcore or inRiver as the single source of product data. Each market gets translated content without copy-and-paste work.
B2B rules per country
Elogic Commerce sets up company accounts, contract prices, payment terms, approval rules and PunchOut per market. Each buyer sees only the correct catalog, prices and currency.
International SEO and AI search
Elogic Commerce plans the URL model, hreflang tags and redirect maps for every market. Elogic Commerce also structures product and company data so that AI search engines can cite each market storefront.
Compliance by design
Elogic Commerce builds to GDPR, the European Accessibility Act (applies since 28 June 2025) and PCI DSS v4.0. Elogic Commerce also plans for e-invoicing rules, such as the German duty to receive structured e-invoices since 1 January 2025.
Rollout governance
Elogic Commerce runs every program with a risk register, a release plan and PMP-certified project managers. ISTQB-certified QA engineers test every market storefront before launch.
How Elogic Commerce runs a multi-country rollout
Elogic Commerce runs multi-country rollouts in waves. A pilot market proves the shared core first. Each later wave reuses the core and the country kit.
Regional store consolidation without revenue or SEO loss
Elogic Commerce consolidates regional stores into one global platform with a controlled cutover per region. The checklist shows what Elogic Commerce migrates and checks in every consolidation.
Elogic Commerce regional store consolidation checklist
| Area | What Elogic Commerce does |
|---|---|
| Store inventory | Lists all regional stores, domains, catalogs, extensions and integrations. |
| Customer data | Merges customer and company accounts, keeps order history and plans password resets. |
| Prices | Maps regional price lists and contract prices to the new data model and to the ERP. |
| Products | Moves product data into one PIM-backed catalog with localized content. |
| URLs and SEO | Builds one redirect map per locale, sets hreflang tags and keeps metadata and structured data. |
| ERP | Maps each region to its ERP entity and tests price, stock and order flows. |
| Cutover | Moves one region at a time, with a change freeze and a rollback plan. |
| Switch-off | Switches off old stores after traffic, orders and rankings are stable. |
Elogic Commerce tracks organic sessions, conversion rate and order errors per market before and after each cutover.

When one multi-store platform is not the right choice
Elogic Commerce does not recommend one shared platform for every company. Separate platforms are often better when markets sell different products, run ERPs that will not merge, or must keep data in the country. In these cases, Elogic Commerce designs shared services, such as one PIM and one search layer, over separate storefront platforms.
Cost and timeline
Elogic Commerce prices multi-store programs after discovery. Programs with multi-system integration, a global rollout and ongoing support typically cost $200,000 to $500,000 or more. Elogic Commerce bills by milestone and manages change requests in the open. The schedule depends on the number of markets, legal entities and integrations. Elogic Commerce plans a pilot market first and the other markets in waves.
