Pharmaciaty’s growth plan called for a platform that worked for both end customers and business partners. We focused on three core workstreams—B2C website, B2B portal, and an integrated queueing and validation engine—bringing together Adobe Commerce, custom development, and third-party integrations.
We built a storefront that makes healthcare shopping simple and compliant. Customers can browse OTC and prescription products with intuitive filters, then upload prescriptions for secure validation when required. Smart search and personalized recommendations guide users to the right products, while insurance-aware pricing checks eligibility in real time through secure API calls to provider databases and applies discounts automatically.
The centerpiece is the checkout. We designed a custom order flow for pharma: prescriptions and insurance orders are queued for pharmacist or insurer approval before fulfillment, and rules enforce product limits, SKU caps, and eligibility.
The platform supports Arabic and English, multiple payment methods, live delivery tracking via TMS integration, and easy returns. Every order is logged with a full audit trail, ensuring compliance with GDPR and local healthcare regulations.
To extend Pharmacity’s ecosystem beyond consumers, we developed a secure portal for vendors, suppliers, and insurers. Dedicated dashboards with role-based access gave each partner clear responsibilities, while product and inventory sync kept pricing, stock levels, and batch expiries accurate. Bulk upload tools simplified larger updates, reducing manual effort.
Prescription orders were tied directly into the portal, automatically routed to vendors for confirmation and insurers for coverage validation. With integrated workflows and custom notifications, both parties gained real-time visibility into order status.
We further enhanced the portal with tools that make everyday operations faster and more reliable. A lead management system turns structured requests into full orders, reducing manual effort and shortening response times. A cross-sell microservice collects customer consent, verifies delivery details, and opens opportunities for B2B2C offers. In parallel, a geolocation microservice manages warehouse data and delivery coverage, ensuring stock is visible where it matters and orders are routed efficiently.
To handle the complexity of prescription orders across channels, we built a custom engine that keeps the flow consistent and compliant. Prescriptions are automatically queued by channel, routed to the right approver, and released only once all checks are cleared.
We introduced quotation rules so off-hours requests don’t stall, and capacity management to prevent bottlenecks during peak times. Manual overrides give pharmacists flexibility when needed, while real-time tracking integrations keep both customers and internal teams fully informed.
