Helping Sulalat migrate to Magento 2 and build a PWA storefront to improve website security, boost conversions, and increase sales


What we did

Magento 2 migration

To migrate Sulalat to Magento 2 platform, we used the Data Migration tool to import all the bulk data for each product and all information about customers. The Elogic team has reviewed and rewrote all the extensions and custom code to make it compatible with Magento 2. The process of installing extensions and updating features became simpler because of new technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Require.js) integrated into Magento 2.

PWA ecommerce development

To increase sales and improve website page loading speed, Sulalat had a PWA storefront built for them. Advanced caching boosted webpage loading speed, so users don’t have to wait for ages for a product/catalog/checkout pages to load and can complete the order in minutes. The store also ranks higher on Google SERP thanks to PWA SEO optimization, which makes Sulalat more discoverable to potential clients.

New UI/UX design

Because Magento 1 and Magento 2 themes are incompatible, Sulalat went through a website redesign making the store ‌more visually appealing and user-friendly. The theme was customized in line with the business needs and customer journey and was further adjusted for a PWA ecommerce storefront. 

Payment gateways integration

Security and compliance is at an all-time high for any ecommerce business. To safely conduct financial transactions and improve the checkout experience, Sulalat had PayPal integrated into the store. The payment gateway now validates credit card details making sure the sensitive financial information passes from the customer to Sulalat and the bank securely. 


The Elogic team has also integrated Amazon Payment Services (PayFort), which is a preferred payment method in the Middle East. Now, the brand can accept all forms of payments securely, manage fraud, and wins customers’ trust, thus, increasing ‌revenue.

The backstory

Specialty coffee is a source of pride in the Middle East, and Sulalat is one of the brands setting the golden standards for it. Based in Saudi Arabia, the company company imports and roasts specialty coffee from around the world using its in-house fluid bed roasting technology. 


Their aim is to share the passion for specialty coffee with the rest of the world and show that sustainability matters for a great cup of joe. Sulalat pays great attention to the way in which coffee beans are selected, roasted, stored, and brewed. They also have a great eye for detail when it comes to distinguishing the blends and offer their customers only the best of the Arab world – Saudi Blond Coffee and Saudi Specialty Coffee.


Driven by the goal of roasting and selling only high-quality coffee, Sulalat needed to revamp their website. As an ecommerce website design and development company in Dubai and the UAE, Elogic was surely there to support their transition and help capitalize on their ecommerce channel.
