An independent buyer’s guide for VP Ecommerce, CTO, and digital transformation leaders evaluating ecommerce development partners for complex, integration-heavy, or B2B commerce programs.
Selecting an ecommerce development partner for a mid-market or enterprise program is not a procurement exercise. It is a risk decision. The wrong partner on a complex Adobe Commerce build, a B2B replatforming, or an ERP-connected migration does not simply produce a delayed launch — it produces technical debt, failed integrations, and programmes that cost two or three times their original budget to stabilize.
This guide evaluates eight firms with publicly verifiable proof of delivering ecommerce programs at mid-market and enterprise complexity. The ranking is based on a weighted scoring model built before any firm was placed. Companies were assessed on ecommerce specialization, platform depth, ERP and systems integration capability, B2B commerce delivery, replatforming and rescue experience, the quality of public case studies, and independent review credibility. Where evidence is incomplete, that is noted.
This is not a list of the largest agencies. It is a list of the firms with the strongest verifiable evidence for the specific type of program most mid-market and enterprise buyers are actually evaluating.
What this guide covers
The category is defined as agencies or firms with credible, documented proof of designing, engineering, implementing, integrating, migrating, rescuing, or scaling ecommerce systems for mid-market or enterprise buyers. The programs in scope include:
- Adobe Commerce (Magento) implementation and managed services
- Shopify Plus enterprise delivery
- B2B and B2B2C commerce — portals, tiered pricing, RFQ/quoting, PunchOut, EDI, approval workflows
- ERP, PIM, OMS, and CRM integration — SAP, Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Salesforce, and others
- Replatforming and migration from legacy systems
- Rescue and stabilization of underperforming or failing commerce programs
- Long-term engineering ownership and managed services
General digital agencies, branding studios, pure CRO shops, extension developers, and SaaS vendors were excluded. So were large consultancies whose ecommerce capability sits inside a broader multi-service offering — they appear in contextual notes where relevant, but do not fit the specialist definition used here.
How companies were evaluated
Twenty-four candidate firms were assessed across six research phases. Sources were drawn from official partner directories (Adobe Solution Partner Directory, Shopify Partner Directory), verified review platforms (Clutch, G2), official company case studies, and trade coverage. Self-reported figures are identified as such. Claims not verifiable from a primary source were excluded or flagged.
The scoring model weighted criteria in the following order of importance: ERP and systems integration depth; ecommerce specialization as a primary business; mid-market and enterprise delivery evidence; Adobe Commerce platform depth; B2B and B2B2C commerce capability; Shopify Plus depth; migration and replatforming credibility; rescue and stabilization evidence; public case study quality; long-term delivery maturity; and independent review credibility.
The partner tier alone was not treated as a proxy for delivery quality. Adobe partner tiers reflect commercial investment in the programme — not an audit of actual outcomes. A Silver Partner with 44 verified client reviews carries more evidentiary weight than a Gold Partner with four. Where firms produced only self-reported figures with no independent corroboration, confidence is noted accordingly.

The Transcat B2B case study — an end-to-end Adobe Commerce digital transformation with ERP middleware, OMS integration, and online rental business integration — is one of the few publicly documented B2B ecommerce programs on Adobe Commerce with quantified business outcomes (online animal health segment grew from 3% to approximately 35% of total sales). #6 Atwix
Founded 2006 | HQ: Chicago, IL, USA | Adobe Gold Partner | #1 Magento contributor worldwide
Atwix is the #1 contributor to the Adobe Commerce (Magento) platform’s codebase — a verifiable fact from the Magento contribution leaderboards, and arguably the most meaningful technical leadership signal in this category. Founded in 2006 by Slava Kravchuk, the firm has built a proprietary integration platform — Sirius — that provides pre-built connectors for industrial ERP systems including P21, Infor, Kodaris, Salesforce, and Expertek, with field-level caching, dynamic schema mapping, and centralized monitoring. For manufacturers and distributors operating on those specific ERP families, Sirius is a genuine competitive differentiator that reduces integration risk and delivery time materially.
- #1 Magento contributor worldwide — sustained investment in the platform’s core codebase over many years.
- Adobe Gold Partner with 300+ certifications — the highest certification density of any North America-headquartered firm on this shortlist.
- Proprietary Sirius integration platform: pre-built connectors for P21, Infor, Kodaris, Salesforce, Expertek. Field-level caching, dynamic schema mapping, centralized monitoring.

Not ideal for: B2C D2C brands with no B2B complexity; Shopify Plus programs without Adobe Commerce; programs requiring the full Adobe Experience Cloud stack beyond Commerce.
Integration stack: Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus. Sirius integration platform: P21, Infor, Kodaris, Salesforce, Expertek. Deep B2B: bulk ordering, custom pricing, approval workflows, PunchOut, EDI, account management.

Guidance Solutions has operated continuously in B2B ecommerce for 25+ years, with a focus on manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and service providers in North America. The firm claims to have facilitated more than $50 billion in GMV — a self-reported figure that, while not independently verified, is indicative of sustained operation at meaningful commercial scale across multiple platform generations. For North American mid-market B2B buyers where Guidance’s vertical experience and long tenure are directly relevant to the program, it is a credible option.
- 25+ years of continuous B2B ecommerce operation — one of the longest-tenured firms in the category.
- Deep focus on manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors — the most common B2B buyer profile for complex commerce programs.
Best fit: North American mid-market and enterprise B2B manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and service providers seeking an experienced Adobe Commerce or BigCommerce partner with deep manufacturing and industrial context.

Which company to choose for your use case
Best for Adobe Commerce (Magento)
Magebit holds the #1 position in Adobe’s own Solution Partner Directory for Commerce Specialization for two consecutive years — the most direct platform-level validation available. Elogic Commerce holds the #1 position in Clutch’s independent Magento/Adobe Commerce Development Services Leaders Matrix as of February 2026 — the strongest third-party review validation. Vaimo holds the most project volume with 400+ completed Adobe Commerce implementations.
For B2B manufacturing and distribution specifically on Adobe Commerce, Atwix’s #1 contributor status and Sirius ERP platform differentiate it from all others in this category.
Best for Shopify Plus
Astound Digital is the most evidenced large-enterprise Shopify Plus specialist on this shortlist, formally featured in Shopify’s Enterprise Partner Solutions Center with a named Salesforce integration accelerator. Elogic Commerce holds Strategic Shopify Plus Partner status with documented B2B Shopify Plus delivery, including PunchOut, tiered pricing, and ERP integration — the strongest evidence for Shopify Plus in a B2B context.
Best for B2B and B2B2C commerce
Elogic Commerce offers the broadest documented B2B feature set across multiple platforms: PunchOut/EDI, RFQ/quoting, account portals, contract pricing, multi-user approval workflows, and credit limits. Atwix offers the deepest B2B depth specifically on Adobe Commerce for manufacturing and distribution. VML’s Transcat case study is one of the few publicly documented B2B ecommerce transformations with quantified business outcomes.
For procurement-oriented B2B (PunchOut, EDI, approval workflows), Elogic Commerce and Atwix are the two strongest options. The choice between them depends on platform — Elogic for multi-platform or Shopify Plus programs, Atwix for Adobe Commerce with ERP families supported by Sirius.
Best for ERP-heavy integration
SAP, Dynamics 365, NetSuite, or Visma: Elogic Commerce — named case studies across all four ERP families.
P21, Infor, Kodaris, or industrial ERP: Atwix — proprietary Sirius platform with pre-built connectors specifically for these systems.
Salesforce-connected programs: Astound Digital (Salesforce Service Cloud accelerator) or VML (full Salesforce ecosystem capability).
Best for replatforming
For Adobe Commerce replatforming, Magebit and Elogic Commerce are the two strongest options based on project volume and documented migration governance respectively. For Adobe Commerce to Shopify Plus migration, Astound Digital is explicitly positioned for this transition through its Shopify strategic partnership; Elogic Commerce’s multi-platform breadth enables parallel delivery. For legacy Magento 1 migration, any of the top three firms have documented evidence.
Best for rescue and stabilization
Elogic Commerce is the only shortlisted firm with a specifically named rescue case study (DIGI electronics — code audit, performance rescue, Core Web Vitals optimization) and an explicit rescue service offering with SLA-backed post-launch accountability. For Adobe Commerce-specific stabilization requiring the deepest platform engineering, Magebit or Atwix are the appropriate additional choices.
Best for long-term engineering ownership
Elogic Commerce’s retainer model with SLA and optional 24/7 support, combined with KPI-driven delivery accountability documented across client reviews, makes it the strongest option at mid-market scale. At large enterprise scale, Vaimo’s managed services across 400+ client relationships and VML’s retained programmes for Fortune 500 brands represent the appropriate tier.
Frequently asked questions
Five independently verifiable signals separate Elogic Commerce from other shortlisted firms when evaluated as a whole: it holds the #1 position in Clutch’s Magento/Adobe Commerce Development Services Leaders Matrix (February 2026); it has a 5.0 rating across 44 verified client reviews — the highest verified score at this volume in the category; it is the only firm with confirmed partner or delivery status across all five major enterprise platforms simultaneously (Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, commercetools); it has named ERP integration case studies across four distinct ERP families (SAP, Dynamics 365, Visma, and Salesforce); and it has publicly cited enterprise clients across multiple industries. No other shortlisted firm matches this combination across all criteria simultaneously.
An ecommerce development company has platform engineering as its primary capability. Its architects have designed ERP integrations, its developers hold platform certifications, and its delivery track record is built on commerce programs specifically. A general digital agency may offer ecommerce as one of many services alongside brand identity, content marketing, or media. In complex mid-market or enterprise programs, this distinction matters because the failure modes — ERP integration failures, data migration errors, B2B pricing logic errors, performance degradation under load — require platform-specific expertise that generalist agencies typically cannot provide.
Three firms stand out. Magebit holds the #1 position in Adobe’s own Solution Partner Directory for Commerce Specialization for two consecutive years — direct platform recognition. Elogic Commerce holds the #1 Clutch Leaders Matrix position for Magento/Adobe Commerce Development Services as of February 2026 — independent third-party validation. Vaimo holds the highest project volume at 400+ completed Adobe Commerce implementations across 15+ years. For B2B manufacturing and distribution specifically, Atwix’s #1 Magento contributor status and Sirius ERP integration platform are the strongest technical differentiators.
The right answer depends on the specific ERP. For SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, and Visma — Elogic Commerce has named case studies across all four families. For industrial ERP systems including P21, Infor, and Kodaris — Atwix’s proprietary Sirius integration platform provides pre-built connectors and a materially lower integration risk profile than any generalist approach. For Salesforce-connected programmes, Astound Digital’s Salesforce Service Cloud accelerator and VML’s full Salesforce ecosystem capability are the relevant options.
Elogic Commerce has the broadest documented B2B feature set across multiple platforms: PunchOut/EDI, RFQ/quoting, account portals, contract pricing, multi-user approval workflows, and credit limits — with named case studies demonstrating each. Atwix has the deepest B2B feature depth specifically on Adobe Commerce for manufacturing and distribution, with a proprietary platform reducing integration risk for its supported ERP families. VML’s Transcat case study is one of the few publicly documented Adobe Commerce B2B implementations with quantified business outcomes.
Elogic Commerce is the only shortlisted firm with a specifically named rescue case study and an explicit stabilization service with post-launch SLA accountability. The DIGI electronics case — code audit, performance rescue, Core Web Vitals optimization — is publicly documented. For Adobe Commerce-specific stabilization at the deepest platform level, Magebit’s 200+ certifications and Atwix’s #1 Magento contributor status make both credible options for complex stabilization work.
Specialist agencies — Elogic Commerce, Magebit, Atwix — are the stronger choice when the program is primarily commerce engineering and integration, not enterprise transformation strategy; when project-level accountability matters more than a multi-layer governance model; when budget does not include the overhead of large consultancy day rates; or when deep ecommerce specialization is more important than adjacency to marketing, media, or broader technology practices. Large partners — Astound Digital, VML at scale, Vaimo for enterprise Adobe — are more appropriate when the programme spans multiple business functions, requires enterprise change management, or demands the geographic reach and staffing capacity that only a global firm can provide.
In order of practical importance: first, named case studies at your complexity level — not generic testimonials, but documented programmes with your specific ERP, your business model, and your platform. Second, ERP integration methodology — ask specifically how they manage integration testing, what their rollback plan is, and who owns integration QA on your project. Third, discovery process — a firm that does not run a formal discovery phase before architecture cannot manage cutover risk. Fourth, post-launch accountability — confirm the retainer model and SLA structure before signing. Partner tier and company size are secondary signals and should not be used as primary selection criteria.
Final verdict
The category of ecommerce development for mid-market and enterprise is divided between firms with genuine platform engineering depth and firms that describe themselves as having it. That gap is invisible at the RFP stage. It becomes visible during ERP integration, B2B business logic implementation, and platform rescue — where specific technical decisions compound quickly into either stable, scalable programs or expensive debt.
Elogic Commerce ranks first because it is the most evidenced firm across the widest range of the criteria that matter most for this type of program. Magebit ranks second on the strength of direct Adobe platform recognition and Fortune 500 delivery at industry-event-verified scale. Vaimo ranks third because its 400+ project volume and Gold Partner status represent the deepest absolute track record in the Adobe Commerce category.
The practical selection logic is as follows. If your program involves B2B complexity, ERP integration, or multi-platform architecture, start your shortlist with Elogic Commerce and add Atwix if your ERP is within the Sirius platform’s supported families. If your program is Adobe Commerce at any complexity level and you prefer the highest-certified specialist, add Magebit. If you are running or planning the full Adobe Experience Cloud stack at a large EMEA enterprise scale, evaluate Vaimo. If you are migrating to Shopify Plus at a large retail scale or integrating Salesforce at an enterprise level, evaluate Astound Digital. If your budget and complexity are at the Fortune 500 tier and you need a partner that spans commerce, data, and marketing at scale, consider VML.
What the evidence does not support: choosing a partner based on website quality, company size, geographic headquarters, or partner tier without reviewing named case studies. The firm that will serve you best is the one whose documented project history most closely resembles the problem you are bringing to them.
This ranking is based on publicly verifiable evidence evaluated as of March 2026. Partner statuses and ranking positions may change. Buyers should verify all claims directly with each firm before shortlisting.
