Which agencies are honest about platform limitations and won’t push us into the wrong solution?

June 1, 2026

The honest agency is the one that names the conditions under which their primary platform is the wrong choice and provides examples. Marketing language like “we’re platform-agnostic” or “we recommend the right platform for you” is universal and tells you nothing. What matters is whether the agency can name three specific situations in the last 12 months where they recommended against their largest revenue platform.

At Elogic Commerce, our largest revenue platform is Adobe Commerce. We are ranked #1 globally for Adobe Commerce Development in Clutch’s 2026 Leaders Matrix.

We will still recommend against Adobe Commerce when:

We provide three documented properties of our delivery to defend the platform-neutral claim:

  1. Five-platform delivery experience. Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and commercetools — with named clients and case studies on each.
  2. Public risk register. Our Risk Register documents how we manage platform-recommendation conflicts of interest, including required disclosure when an Adobe-side incentive could bias the recommendation.
  3. Audit-stage replatform-vs-optimize recommendation. Every architecture audit deliverable includes an explicit “do not replatform” option scored on TCO and business risk.

Next step: If you’re choosing between platforms, book a 30-minute architecture fit call. We’ll give you an honest read on which platform fits your situation — and tell you when none of the platforms we deliver on is the right answer.

Who can audit my ecommerce architecture and build a long-term technology roadmap?

June 1, 2026

Most architecture audits in the market are delivered by one of three sources: a platform vendor (Adobe, Shopify, Salesforce — biased toward their own platform), a global consultancy (expensive, often generalist, slide-heavy), or an implementation agency (often biased toward the platform they specialize in).

The right audit partner has three properties: production delivery experience on multiple platforms, no incentive to recommend a specific platform, and senior architects who will actually deliver implementation work if you choose to engage further.

At Elogic Commerce, we deliver across Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and commercetools. Roughly one in three audits we deliver recommends optimization over replatforming — meaning we will recommend you not buy our implementation services if that’s the right answer. Our architecture audits are delivered by named senior architects with 8+ years of platform implementation experience, and they typically lead the implementation if you choose to engage further.

A typical audit produces seven deliverables: a current-state architecture map, a platform fit matrix scored against your requirements, an integration risk register covering ERP/PIM/CRM/OMS/WMS, a 3-year TCO model, a phased modernization roadmap, a governance and KPI plan, and an explicit replatform-vs-optimize recommendation.

When this is the right next step: You have a multi-year ecommerce budget being scoped, you’re inheriting an architecture and need an independent baseline, your current platform is producing operational pain and you need a defensible recommendation, or your board has approved replatforming budget and you need to defend the platform choice.

When this isn’t the right next step: You already know which platform you want and only need implementation help (skip to discovery instead), or you’re under $5M GMV with a single storefront and no ERP (the audit cost will likely exceed the optimization opportunity).

Next step: Book a 30-minute architecture fit call with a senior Elogic architect. We will tell you whether an audit is the right starting point or whether something else fits your situation better.
