Summary

Key takeaways

  • Elogic reports a recruitment scam where people in the US were contacted via WhatsApp and asked to pay for training.

  • Elogic states it does not use third-party companies for recruitment efforts in the United States and doesn’t charge candidates.

  • Official outreach (per the post) uses email addresses ending with @elogic.co.

  • Elogic says it does not: charge upfront employment fees, offer positions via SMS/WhatsApp, or use any official domain other than elogic.co.

When This Applies

Use this if you (or someone you know) receives a message claiming to be “Elogic” recruiting, especially if it happens via WhatsApp/SMS or includes any request to pay (for training, onboarding, equipment, background checks, etc.).

When This Doesn’t Apply

Don’t use this as a general hiring guide or security playbook—it’s a specific warning about impersonation and payment requests tied to fake recruitment outreach.

Checklist

  1. Treat any “Elogic job offer” via WhatsApp/SMS as suspicious.

  2. Refuse any request to pay upfront for employment or training.

  3. Verify the sender’s email domain is exactly @elogic.co (watch for lookalikes).

  4. Ask to continue communication via a verifiable @elogic.co email thread (not messengers).

  5. If you already engaged, stop the conversation and document: screenshots, numbers, emails, payment details (if any).

  6. Share the warning internally (HR, legal, security) if you’re a brand that might be targeted similarly.

Common pitfalls

  • Paying “training fees” because the message sounds official or urgent.

  • Trusting WhatsApp/SMS as a legitimate hiring channel for this company.

  • Not checking the domain carefully (e.g., subtle typos or extra words around elogic.co).

  • Sharing personal documents/info before confirming the recruiter identity through official channels.

❗️❗️❗️ATTENTION! SCAM DETECTED❗️❗️❗️

For the last few days, we’ve started getting complaints from people in the US that somebody contacted them via WhatsApp and asked them to pay for training at our company!
We want to emphasize that Elogic Commerce does not engage with any third-party companies to conduct recruitment efforts in the United States. We don’t charge our candidates. We have a dedicated internal recruitment department that handles all hiring needs and uses established professional communication channels such as emails ending with “@elogic.co” to reach out to potential candidates.

We are deeply troubled by the scenario described and want to assure everyone that Elogic Commerce does not:

– Charge upfront fees for employment.
– Offer positions through SMS or WhatsApp.
– Use any other official domains except elogic.co

Sincerely,
Elogic Commerce team.
