Ecommerce Technology Stack:
What Elogic Commerce Builds, Integrates and Supports

Seven commerce platform families. Eight ERP systems. Node.js and PHP engineering behind them. Core platform and ERP claims below are grounded in current Elogic Commerce case studies, partner records and published delivery evidence - with public proof named wherever it exists.

Elogic Commerce builds and integrates ecommerce systems across Adobe Commerce (Magento), Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Agentforce Commerce (formerly Salesforce Commerce Cloud, including B2C Commerce and B2B Commerce), SAP Commerce Cloud, commercetools and MedusaJS. Published Elogic Commerce case studies document production ERP work with eight systems from seven vendors: SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business One, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Visma, Infor, Epicor and Odoo. Elogic also maintains verified partner relationships across Adobe, Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce, SAP Commerce Cloud and commercetools.

How to read this page

This page separates delivery evidence from general capability claims. Core commerce platforms, ERP systems and engineering technologies are tied to published Elogic Commerce engagements wherever public proof exists; where a named production reference is not public, the page says so instead of presenting a partner badge as delivery proof.

That standard keeps certifications, vendor relationships and production delivery distinct. A partnership confirms access to an ecosystem; a case study confirms delivered work. The strongest claims on this page use the latter.

Where the public record shows one named engagement rather than a broad delivery history, we use that engagement as the proof point and avoid turning it into a wider claim than the evidence supports.

The same standard applies to the engineering stack further down. A language on that list means we staff it and have shipped commerce work in it – not that someone on the team once completed a course.

If the system you run is not listed, that is not automatically a no – it usually means we have not shipped it yet, and we will tell you that directly rather than discover it during your build.

Commerce platforms we build and support

Elogic Commerce works across Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Agentforce Commerce (formerly Salesforce Commerce Cloud), SAP Commerce Cloud, commercetools and MedusaJS. Current Elogic partner records cover Adobe, Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce, SAP Commerce Cloud and commercetools, while the architecture-audit practice explicitly compares multiple platforms and includes an optimise-versus-replatform recommendation.

The harder test is delivery evidence. MedusaJS, for example, is represented here because Elogic Commerce has a published Manutan implementation with a Node.js orchestration layer and SAP S/4HANA integration – not because it appears in a vendor directory.

The matrix below includes a column most agencies leave out: where we would recommend against the platform. It is the column worth reading first.

Platform fit - strongest use case, B2B depth, and where we would advise against each platform.
Platform Strongest fit B2B native depth Where we would recommend against it Production proof
Adobe Commerce Complex B2B, deep customisation, integration-heavy catalogues, multi-store estates Deepest. Native account hierarchies, contract pricing, RFQ, requisition lists Modest B2B complexity with no in-house engineering to carry TCO; GMV that does not justify the licence Armacell - 5× faster order approvals, 40% fewer manual orders
Shopify Plus DTC at scale, fast time-to-market, B2B that fits Shopify B2B natives, multi-market via Markets Strong natives - company profiles, catalogues, payment terms - less configurable than Adobe Deep custom checkout logic; multi-tier contract pricing beyond Shopify B2B primitives PetHQ - 1,400+ users, +$1.1M year-one B2B revenue, live in 2.5 months
BigCommerce SaaS with more open APIs than Shopify; multi-storefront; headless-friendly Solid B2B Edition capability; strong API surface When the largest app ecosystem or native B2B depth is the deciding factor DMI - BigCommerce Enterprise B2B Edition with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP integration for a 150,000-product distributor
Salesforce CC - B2C Commerce Consumer retail at scale, heavy merchandising and personalisation. Formerly Demandware Not the B2B product. Account hierarchies and contract pricing need B2B Commerce instead B2B-led operations. Choosing B2C Commerce for a B2B business is one of the more expensive errors we unwind Disney - Salesforce Commerce Cloud performance engineering; 40% faster Time-to-Action and 25% lower backend processing overhead
Salesforce CC - B2B Commerce Manufacturers and distributors selling contract pricing to account-based buyers, already on Salesforce CRM. Formerly CloudCraze Purpose-built: account hierarchies, price books, contract pricing, buyer roles, approval flows on the native CRM record model Teams with no Salesforce estate - it runs on the Salesforce Platform, so the CRM adjacency is the whole advantage Rexel - Salesforce B2B Commerce with SAP S/4HANA and Akeneo PIM for a 300k+ SKU enterprise catalogue
SAP Commerce Cloud SAP-centric enterprises where commerce must sit inside the SAP estate Enterprise B2B natives; deepest native SAP master-data alignment Non-SAP estates. See migration positioning — we do not pitch new builds on it Elogic Commerce is a SAP Commerce Cloud Partner; no named SAP Commerce Cloud production case study is currently published on elogic.co
commercetools Composable and MACH architectures, multi-brand estates, real in-house platform engineering API-first - B2B logic is built rather than configured Teams without platform engineering capacity. Composable moves cost from licence to people Enzio - legacy-to-commercetools replatform with SAP ERP integration for an industrial manufacturer
MedusaJS Open-source headless commerce on Node.js. Composable architecture without enterprise licence cost, full control of the codebase Built, not configured. No native B2B module - hierarchies, contract pricing and approvals are custom work Teams needing B2B natives out of the box, or lacking Node.js capability to own the platform after handover Manutan - Medusa.js + Node.js + SAP S/4HANA; 64% lower order API latency and 52% faster catalogue loading

Architecture and cost profile

Operating model and cost shape for each platform. Timelines are scoped after discovery because integration and migration complexity determine delivery time.
Platform Architecture Typical launch TCO profile
Adobe Commerce PaaS or self-hosted; open codebase Scope-dependent; confirmed after discovery Higher build cost, higher control. Licence scales with GMV; engineering cost persists.
Shopify Plus SaaS, closed core Scope-dependent; confirmed after discovery Predictable subscription; lowest operational overhead.
BigCommerce SaaS, API-first Scope-dependent; confirmed after discovery Predictable subscription; more open than Shopify without self-hosting burden.
Salesforce CC - B2C SaaS, enterprise (formerly Salesforce Commerce Cloud / Demandware) Scope-dependent; confirmed after discovery Revenue-share licensing. Economics depend on an existing Salesforce estate.
Salesforce CC - B2B Runs on the Salesforce Platform (formerly CloudCraze) Scope-dependent; confirmed after discovery Per-user and revenue components. Cheapest when Salesforce CRM is already the system of record.
SAP Commerce Cloud Enterprise suite Migration-out, not new build High. Justified by the SAP estate, rarely by the commerce layer alone.
commercetools MACH / headless, API-first Scope-dependent; confirmed after discovery Lower licence lock-in, higher permanent engineering cost. Cheapest at year one, rarely at year three.
MedusaJS Open-source headless, Node.js runtime Scope-dependent; confirmed after discovery No licence fee. Entire cost is engineering and hosting - cheapest or most expensive depending entirely on whether the team exists.

ERP systems we integrate with commerce

ERP integration is where enterprise commerce programmes fail. Pricing, inventory, customer records and order state all have to stay consistent across two systems that were never designed to agree with each other, and the failure mode is silent: the site keeps working while the data quietly diverges.

The eight ERP systems below represent seven vendors and are backed by named Elogic Commerce production references across Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus, Salesforce B2B Commerce, commercetools and MedusaJS.

Odoo Adobe Commerce Product, stock and order synchronisation for mid-market operations Saudi coffee roaster - Adobe Commerce implementation with Odoo ERP among the production integrations

Which ERP systems we have shipped, and on which platforms

Most agencies will tell you they integrate with your ERP. Fewer will tell you whether they have done it on your platform. Almost none will show you the grid.

Here is ours, including the combinations we have not shipped. If yours reads “Not yet”, that is not a refusal – it means we would be doing it for the first time, and you should price that risk into the decision. Better you know now than in month four.

Hyvä theme development for Adobe Commerce and Magento

Hyvä replaces Magento’s legacy Luma frontend with a lightweight Tailwind and Alpine.js stack. It removes the RequireJS and Knockout layer that makes most Magento storefronts slow, which is why it usually produces a larger Core Web Vitals improvement than any other single intervention available to a Magento merchant – at a fraction of the cost and risk of a headless rebuild.

For most Adobe Commerce stores considering headless purely for speed, Hyvä is the answer to the question they were actually asking. It is faster to deliver, cheaper to maintain, and it does not require you to staff a frontend platform team indefinitely.

FlexShopper

3.5× faster Adobe Commerce

Rebuilt on Hyvä and prepared for peak traffic.

Electronics retailer

Amelie

Fashion retail transformation

SAP Commerce Cloud and Hybris modernisation

SAP Commerce Cloud is the current product name for the platform historically known as Hybris. Elogic Commerce is a SAP Commerce Cloud Partner and treats the decision to stay, modernise or replatform as an architecture question driven by the wider SAP estate, integration constraints and three-year operating cost.

Where SAP remains the operational backbone, keeping commerce aligned with that estate can be the lowest-risk choice. Where the commerce layer is the constraint, Elogic compares alternatives such as Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus and composable architectures rather than assuming that migration is always the answer.

A migration assessment should cover catalogue and customer data, URL and redirect mapping, regional cutover, integration rebuilding and post-launch stabilisation. If SAP remains the system of record, S/4HANA integration must be treated as part of the target architecture rather than as a side task.

Agentforce Commerce - B2C Commerce and B2B Commerce

Salesforce Commerce Cloud is now officially named Agentforce Commerce. The suite still includes distinct B2C Commerce and B2B Commerce products, and the choice between them remains architectural rather than cosmetic.

B2C Commerce

The former Demandware product. A managed SaaS storefront built for consumer retail at volume – merchandising tooling, personalisation, large catalogues, high traffic. It sits alongside Salesforce CRM rather than inside it.

B2B Commerce

The former CloudCraze product, and the one most of our clients need. It runs on the Salesforce Platform itself, which means your commerce data and your CRM data are the same records: accounts, contacts, price books, contracts. That gives you account hierarchies, contract pricing, buyer roles, reorder flows and approval workflows natively, without a synchronisation layer between commerce and CRM.

The practical consequence: if Salesforce is already your system of record, B2B Commerce removes an entire integration problem that every other platform on this page has to solve. If Salesforce is not your system of record, that advantage disappears and the licensing rarely justifies itself.

Choosing B2C Commerce for a B2B operation is one of the more expensive platform errors we are asked to unwind. It is recoverable, but not cheaply.

MedusaJS - open-source headless commerce

MedusaJS is an open-source, Node.js-based headless commerce platform. You get the modularity of a composable stack and complete ownership of the code, with no licence fee and no vendor roadmap dependency.

What you do not get is a B2B module. Account hierarchies, contract pricing, quote-to-order and approval workflows are all custom work on Medusa, where Adobe Commerce and Salesforce B2B Commerce ship them natively. For a B2B operation that is a significant build, and it is the first thing we model in a TCO comparison.

The cost trade-off is straightforward: MedusaJS removes a proprietary commerce licence but increases responsibility for engineering, hosting, observability and long-term platform ownership. Elogic Commerce models those costs together rather than treating “open source” as synonymous with “free”.

Runtimes, languages and engineering capability

Every platform on this page eventually needs code that is not part of the platform - middleware, a backend-for-frontend layer, integration services, migration tooling, custom checkout logic. That work is where most integration projects actually succeed or fail.

Engineering stack behind the platform work. Capped at five entries by design.
Technology Where it is used Evidence
Node.js MedusaJS platform work; backend-for-frontend layers on headless builds; integration middleware between commerce and ERP; custom API services Manutan - Node.js orchestration with Medusa.js and SAP S/4HANA; Zeus - Node.js middleware for Shopify Plus and SAP Business One
TypeScript Typed application and integration code in modern Node.js and frontend delivery Published capability in Elogic’s modern headless and composable engineering stack; project-level evidence should be attached where the language is material to the buyer
PHP Adobe Commerce and Magento core, module and extension development. 17 years of it Armacell, Benum, FlexShopper and the wider Adobe Commerce record
React / Next.js Headless and composable storefronts; PWA work; admin interfaces Manutan supports React / Next.js storefront delivery; Elogic’s headless practice also documents React and Next.js across supported commerce backends
GraphQL / REST Adobe Commerce GraphQL storefront API; commercetools and MedusaJS API layers; ERP integration contracts Dr. Max Group - headless Adobe Commerce via GraphQL; Manutan - API-first commerce and ERP orchestration

What we do not work with

A capability list that only grows is a capability list nobody should trust. Here is where we are not the right call.

New builds on WooCommerce

We migrate businesses off WooCommerce onto Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus and BigCommerce, and we do that often. We do not take on new enterprise B2B builds on it. If WooCommerce is genuinely the right fit for your scale and complexity, a WordPress specialist will serve you better and cost you less than we will.

Platforms outside this verified capability index

Shopware, Spryker, OroCommerce and Sylius are not presented here as verified core delivery capabilities. If one of them is central to your project, Elogic Commerce should validate current delivery history and the proposed team before positioning adjacent experience as platform-specific expertise.

Vendor incentives

Partner status is an ecosystem credential, not the platform-selection method. Elogic’s architecture audits score requirements, integrations and three-year TCO across multiple platforms and explicitly include the option to optimise the current stack instead of replatforming.

Open source as a default answer

MedusaJS can reduce proprietary licence cost, but it also moves more responsibility into engineering, hosting and platform ownership. It is a strong fit when that operating model is intentional; it is a poor fit when the business expects enterprise B2B capabilities without maintaining the technical team required to own them.

Architecture audits below $25,000

Elogic Commerce currently states that architecture audits start at $25,000. For narrower needs, a focused technical audit, discovery engagement or scoped implementation may be more appropriate than a full multi-platform architecture programme.

Replatforming when you do not need it

Roughly one in three architecture audits Elogic Commerce reports recommends optimisation over replatforming. Published examples include recommending Shopify Plus where Adobe Commerce would add unnecessary complexity and keeping a fashion brand on Shopify Plus with Akeneo instead of moving platforms.

Should you modernize your current platform or replatform?

Replatform when the current system creates a structural constraint that targeted modernisation cannot solve economically – an unsupported core, a commercial model the platform cannot express, release risk that will not come down, or integration limits that block the roadmap. Modernise when the platform still fits the business and the bottleneck is actually in the storefront, the integrations, the data model, performance, or delivery practice.

Elogic Commerce reports that roughly one in three architecture audits ends with an optimisation recommendation rather than a replatform. The audit is designed to document the case both ways so the platform decision follows requirements and return on capital rather than project size.

Modernise when…

  • Core platform capabilities still match the business model.
  • Most of the blocked value sits in the frontend, integrations, performance, UX or delivery practice.
  • A staged roadmap can produce measurable gains without migration risk.
  • Existing licences, data model and team skills remain strategically useful.

Replatform when…

  • The platform can no longer express the commercial model – pricing rules, account structures or channel logic it was never built for.
  • The core is unsupported, unsafe, or too expensive to change reliably.
  • Workarounds and customisations now cost more than a new platform would.
  • Vendor roadmap, talent availability or architecture creates a dependency the business cannot accept.

How the technology decision actually gets made

Platform selection is an output, not an input. It falls out of your requirements, integration landscape and operating model – and any agency that leads with a platform recommendation before understanding all three is selling you their bench, not your architecture.

Requirements and constraints

Business model, order patterns, catalogue complexity, pricing rules, regional and regulatory requirements, and the in-house capacity you will have after we leave.

Integration landscape

What the ERP is, what the master data model is, what actually owns pricing and inventory, and which of those systems is immovable. This constraint eliminates more platform options than any other.

Platform fit matrix

Your requirements scored against each viable platform, with the trade-offs written down rather than glossed.

Three-year total cost of ownership, including the licence question

Licence, hosting, implementation, integrations, support and the internal engineering cost of running the target architecture.

Recommendation, including the option to do nothing

Optimisation is on the table alongside replatforming, and often wins.

Delivered as an ecommerce architecture audit: 3–6 weeks, $25,000–$85,000 fixed fee, producing a current-state architecture map, a scored platform fit matrix, a three-year TCO model, an integration risk register and a phased roadmap.

Production references by stack

Each of these is a live or delivered production system, not a pilot.

Named engagements mapped to the technology stack they ran on.
Engagement Sector Stack Outcome
Armacell Industrial manufacturing Adobe Commerce + SAP S/4HANA + PIM 5× faster order approvals; 40% fewer manual orders
PetHQ Pet care retail and wholesale (UAE) Shopify Plus B2B portal +$1.1M new B2B revenue year one; 1,400+ wholesale users; live in 2.5 months
Benum B2B distribution (Nordics) Adobe Commerce + Hyvä + Visma +29% overall conversion; +47% mobile conversion; desktop PageSpeed score improved from 64 to 82
Gabriel & Co. Jewellery Adobe Commerce + Hyvä + Microsoft Dynamics 365 + Zoho CRM + Klaviyo +28% conversion rate; +36% organic traffic; zero downtime during migration
FlexShopper Consumer finance / retail Adobe Commerce + Hyvä 3.5× faster Magento; peak traffic readiness
Performance rescue Consumer electronics Adobe Commerce + Hyvä 109% revenue growth

Not sure which of these you actually need?

Most technology decisions are made with incomplete information about two things: the integration landscape, and where the cost actually sits over three years. That is where the overruns come from. An architecture audit resolves both in 3–6 weeks against a fixed fee - a scored platform fit matrix across all seven platforms, licensed and open-source, a three-year TCO model that prices the engineering as well as the licence, and an integration risk register you own regardless of who builds it.

Common questions

Elogic Commerce delivers production ecommerce on seven platforms: Adobe Commerce (Magento), Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud - both B2C Commerce and B2B Commerce - SAP Commerce Cloud, commercetools and MedusaJS. We hold partner status with Adobe, Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce and commercetools, and deliver MedusaJS as open source with no licence and no partner margin.

Yes, in production. Armacell runs a global B2B self-service ordering portal on Adobe Commerce integrated with SAP S/4HANA and a PIM, delivering 5× faster order approvals and 40% fewer manual orders. The integration covers customer master data, contract pricing, stock and bidirectional order status.

No. We hold partner status across five platform vendors simultaneously, so no single relationship is large enough to bias a recommendation. We are not a licence reseller and earn no margin on platform licences. Roughly one in three architecture audits we deliver recommends optimising the existing platform rather than replatforming.

They are two products inside the Salesforce Commerce Cloud family with different architectures. B2C Commerce, formerly Demandware, is a managed SaaS storefront for consumer retail at volume and sits alongside Salesforce CRM. B2B Commerce, formerly CloudCraze, runs on the Salesforce Platform itself, so commerce and CRM share the same records - accounts, contacts, price books, contracts - which gives you account hierarchies, contract pricing and approval workflows natively. Choosing B2C Commerce for a B2B operation is one of the more expensive platform errors we are asked to unwind.

Both. PHP carries our Adobe Commerce and Magento work and has for seventeen years. Node.js and TypeScript carry MedusaJS builds, backend-for-frontend layers on headless and composable projects, integration middleware between commerce and ERP, and custom API services. Most integration projects succeed or fail in code that is not part of any platform, which is why the engineering stack is published on this page rather than assumed.

Seven vendors and eight systems: SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business One, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Visma, Infor, Epicor and Odoo. Each has been taken to production on at least one client engagement. The coverage matrix on this page shows which of those we have shipped against which commerce platform, including the combinations we have not.

Hyvä replaces the Magento legacy Luma frontend with a lightweight Tailwind and Alpine.js stack, removing the RequireJS and Knockout layer that makes most Magento storefronts slow. For stores considering headless purely for speed, Hyvä usually delivers a comparable Core Web Vitals improvement at a fraction of the cost, and without requiring a permanent frontend platform team.

Because we only list what we have taken to production. Some agencies publish several hundred integrations assembled from vendor directories rather than delivery records. Ours is shorter and every entry has an engagement behind it. If a technology you need is not listed, ask - we will tell you whether we have shipped it, shipped something adjacent, or not shipped it at all.

When you want full control of the codebase, no vendor roadmap dependency and no licence fee, and you either have a Node.js engineering team or intend to build one. MedusaJS has no native B2B module, so account hierarchies, contract pricing and approval flows are custom work that Adobe Commerce and Salesforce B2B Commerce ship out of the box. Open source relocates cost rather than removing it: the licence becomes payroll. Where that team exists, Medusa is often the lowest three-year cost on this page. Where it does not, it is usually the highest.
